Thanks to all the members who already voted en-masse during the first chapter of this secret project. As a brief reminder, this project is about improving the Anomaly, meaning that we’re going to give it a new style, but it won’t be an entirely new model like our last project, the DAY41. Now, let’s move on to the serious business; the results!
Results of chapter 1 votes
On the size of the case
63% of you are very satisfied with the size of the current ANOMALY case, and you want to keep it that way! Your will be done; it will have a diameter of 42 millimeters! The results in full:
Let’s be clear: this vote is actually an order!
97% of the members who voted expressed their desire for a back that reveals the mechanical magic of this future Anomaly. And that’s nothing unusual; when you like mechanical design, you want to see it, and also show it! This aspect will be a major improvement for the future Amonaly, and we’re delighted with the decision.
The winning margin on this vote was very tight. 52% of you would prefer to stick with watertightness to 50 meters.
In reality, a 100-meter version would only add tens of millimeters of thickness; in addition, the extra cost is truly negligible. As this project is all about improvement, it seemed a shame to miss out on a 100% increase in watertightness, especially given the painless financial and visual cost. As the margin was so small, we’ve decided to go for the 100-meter version.
Your comments could not be more explicit. The movement being Swiss, more precise, and displaying the date was very much favored. Thanks for your feedback.
We’ve thought of 2 other ways of making this new Anomaly even better. These are just little details, but the details matter to us:
- A more powerful Luminova coating to make the dial easier to read in the shade or at night
- A reinforced crown. In some circumstances, the current one might weaken somewhat; if it catches on a trouser pocket, for example.
As we mentioned in the first chapter, the aim of this project is to combine the best of both worlds by uniting the best assets of the Anomaly01 and the Anomaly02. So we’ve made a few designs along those lines… Now it’s up to you to vote!
We’ve tested 2 variants for displaying the time: the current version, retaining the subtilty of the original, and a more technical version with Luminova indices to make it easier to read.
Colors and materials
Our research into colors and materials will be presented during the next chapter, but we know that you already have some ideas on the matter, so let us know what you think in the comment section at the bottom of the page.
