Why are our prices estimated?
The prices of our future editions are estimated. Several factors actually have an impact on the final price of our models and accessories: exchange rate, changes in the prices of raw materials and the cost of transport are all variables that influence the final price of each of our projects. Furthermore, the number of models ordered through pre-orders has an impact on the negotiation of the price of the parts from our suppliers (we don't pay the same price for a part ordered in quantities of 100 or 1000!). As always, we make it a point of honor to anticipate and optimize each expense to the maximum in order to offer you our watches and accessories at the best price and in the most complete transparency, thanks to our TTO label.

NB24 Edition 2: what makes it an exceptional timepiece?
Exclusive movement just for the CODE41 community
Dial-side peripheral oscillating weight, a very rare technical feat
Movement designed, produced and assembled entirely in Switzerland in short production runs
The best value for money in mechanical watchmaking
Finished and assembled by hand
NB24,
an exceptional movement
Mechanical movements are extremely complex, and nowadays are only produced by a few manufacturers. Developing such a movement costs around 3 to 5 million euros, and can take up to 5 years to perfect. In addition, based on series of a few thousand watches per year, the production cost for each movement is around 3,000 euros.
In that case, how have we been able to create our very own movement, fitted with a peripheral weight on the dial side and at that price?
As the chronograph is one of our partner Concepto's specialties, we've been able to make use of their base, constructed using the architecture of the famous “Valjoux” 7750 movement, known for its robustness and reliability. Then we've modified it by moving the counters, redesigning the bridges, and above all adding a peripheral weight on the dial side. This rare complication alone accounts for a third of the cost of production. It's important to point out that all of the components, except for the mainspring and the jewels, are produced in-house.
In addition to the financial benefit, using an existing base, which has already been at optimal reliability for a number of years, avoids the tiresome problems of youth.
First NB24 delivery: the opinion of a Creator member!
Through a lot of persistence and determination, we managed complete production of the NB24 Creator Edition without any problems! We avoided the obstacles of the last 18 months (shortage of raw materials, difficulty in acquiring supplies, limited workforce since the coronavirus crisis) while succeeding in staying on the course that we'd set ourselves!
With production of batch nº1 finished, the first members to receive their orders were delighted with their NB24 chronograph. Check out the video attached to witness the CODE41 team delivering a Creator member's NB24 in person, and that member's thoughts on their new timepiece:

AeroCarbon, high-density aeronautical carbon fiber
Extremely strong, carbon fiber is one of those technical materials that combines perfectly with mechanical watchmaking magic. But we didn't want any old carbon fiber, we wanted the best of the best. The AeroCarbon’s case is made from a high-density aeronautical carbon fiber.
2.5x more resistant to bending than steel
2x lighter than titanium and 4x lighter than steel
Very dense and watertight without a titanium chamber

Extremely strong, carbon fiber is one of those technical materials that combines perfectly with mechanical watchmaking magic. But we didn't want any old carbon fiber, we wanted the best of the best. The AeroCarbon’s case is made from a high-density aeronautical carbon fiber.
Produced for us on-demand in France, the blocks are made up of over 300 layers, each placed at 90° to the previous and compacted under 10 bars of pressure in an autoclave oven. This process guarantees an exceptional composite 2.5 times more resistant to bending than steel.
In addition, due to its high density, AeroCarbon is watertight without the need to add a titanium chamber, as is the case with the carbon fiber, less dense and more porous, typically used in watchmaking.
2.5x more resistant to bending than steel
2x lighter than titanium and 4x lighter than steel
Very dense and watertight without a titanium chamber
Ultra-light, ultra-resistant grade 5 titanium
Titanium offers the convenient advantage of being two times lighter than steel. For our NB24 chronograph, we've gone with grade 5 titanium. It's certainly more expensive than grade 2 (which is much more sensitive to scratches), but it offers significantly better toughness (up to 2x more) and allows the finishing to be applied with much better quality. Once again, we've selected the must-have option for you!
2x tougher than grade 2 titanium and steel
2x lighter than steel
Dial-side peripheral oscillating weight
The peripheral weight is a true technical feat, today mastered by only a handful of brands. We had already integrated one into our X41 movement, but for our NB24 chronograph, we went even further by making it visible on the dial side. It's a distinctive feature found very rarely in Fine Watchmaking pieces, and even then often at stratospheric prices.
Reduction in movement thickness
More transparency to showcase the mechanical beauty
A technical feat achieved by only a handful of brands
By the way, what is the purpose of an oscillating weight?
What is the purpose of the oscillating weight?
So-called 'automatic' mechanical movements are fitted with an oscillating weight that recharges the watch through wrist movements (no battery required). As it swings from left to right, the weight rewinds the mainspring, which stores the energy required for the mechanism to function correctly.

NB24
The realization of a dream
Actually, where does the "NB" in our NB24 come from? Our chronograph takes its initials from our ambassador Nigel Bailly, a young paraplegic racing driver who on August 21 and 22 2021 realized a lifelong dream as he achieved the feat of participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans!
It is thanks to his unfailing determination and resilience in the face of any challenge, values that we hold dear here at CODE41, that Nigel pulled off a double victory: triumphing over adversity and finishing this legendary race while achieving a top-notch time. We're proud to dedicate this chronograph to an athlete driven by the same aims as us: pushing one's limits and perseverance.
NB24: much more than “Swiss Made”!
Did you know? For a watch to be Swiss Made, at least 60% of its value must come from Switzerland, its movement must be Swiss, and it must be assembled in Switzerland. Our NB24 project reaches a total of almost 85%, thus easily surpassing the "Swiss Made" criteria. Such a high concentration of Swiss components is very rare! And yet for all that, the NB24 watches will bear no mention of being Swiss Made, as CODE41 has been opposed to this misleading label since the very beginning.
Total transparency
With our TTO label (Total Transparency on Origin), we've put transparency at the heart of our approach. We clearly explain the production costs and mark-ups required for the project to be profitable so that we can concentrate on what we're really passionate about: creating high-quality mechanical watches.

Exceptional movement, exceptional manufacturer
The development of a manufacture movement isn't something you can just improvise. In addition, the chronograph is one of the most specialist watch complications. That's why we've called on one of the best specialists in the field. Based in the heartland of Swiss watchmaking, the manufacturer Concepto was founded in 2006, and today boasts a team of 120 people who handle all of the watchmaking expertise in-house. Suffice to say that you're in good hands!

Frequently asked questions
We've implemented a system in our cart that automatically calculates and pays your country's respective customs duties and VAT, in locations where this is possible. So you won't have anything to pay when you receive your watch.
For some locations, this option does not exist, and we don't calculate these customs duties into your cart, meaning you'll have to pay said duties at the moment of delivery.
For a watch to be considered Swiss Made, at least 60% of its value must come from Switzerland, its movement must be Swiss, and it must be assembled in Switzerland. That means that a Swiss Made watch may be of great quality while a large part of its components come from abroad.
For greater clarity, we've banked on total transparency and chosen both Swiss and foreign components for their defining features and value for money, rather than to meet the criteria of a misleading label. That's why, although the majority of our models comfortably satisfy the criteria, we've decided not to put the Swiss Made label on our watches.
To avoid excess stock, the gray market and any waste, we decided on a pre-order system. It seemed more logical to only produce the quantities that have already been sold. For that reason, we launch pre-orders for a new edition once or twice a year, each for a period of 2 to 4 weeks. We're generally ready for delivery 9 months later. While you're waiting, we enable you to experience the birth of your watch with a lot of videos and photos.
The NB24 watches have a lug width of 24mm. The straps are compatible with the ANOMALY-01, ANOMALY-02 AND X41 watches. The DAY41 37 and 40mm watches, on the other hand, have lug width of 21mm, and require straps which are not suitable for the other collections.
CODE41 is a community project: the aim is to bring enthusiasts together around a watchmaking project in order to make it a reality. Therefore, production is only launched once a minimum number of members support the project. To say thanks to these people, we grant them a special launch price for the Creator Edition, which just allows us to cover our costs, with no profits. The following series are offered at a "normal" price, though of course this price still remains much lower than that of similar pieces.
Complex and delicate, the production of the NB24's movement has required a lot more manual operations than expected. Although the base takes its inspiration from the architecture of the celebrated Valjoux 7750, a well-known and recognized movement, the modifications that we've made to it have required the production of new components, extending the time needed for production and assembly. In addition, the dial-side peripheral weight has proven more costly than expected, marred by the coronavirus crisis which has led to a shortage of raw materials and a higher cost for the heavy segment.
And yet for all that, we can't stop spoiling our community, and putting you into a difficult economic situation was out of the question; therefore, despite the increase in the cost of the movement, we've exceptionally maintained the minimum mark-up that we applied to the Creator Edition for the Edition 2 (reduced in comparison with the mark-up usually applied to the second editions of our models).
If the watch is to be shipped to SINGAPORE, is the price already included the import tax , or I need to pay the tax when I received it?
Is there an option that I could take the watch in Switzerland?
Thank you
Hi Cheng,
