Highly complex,
highly emotional
We've experienced 9 exciting months of development by your side. Your thousands of votes and comments have allowed us to make the NB24 chronograph a reality, which we here at CODE41 are really proud about.
Rather than going with a simple standard movement, we've made the mad move of creating an exceptional movement with a peripheral weight integrated into the dial side. It's rare and complex, but what a joy it is to have it on your wrist!

NB24,
an exceptional movement
Mechanical movements are extremely complex, and nowadays are only produced by a few manufacturers. Developing such a movement costs around 3 to 5 million euros, and can take up to 5 years to perfect. In addition, based on series of a few thousand watches per year, the production cost for each movement is around 3,000 euros.
In that case, how have we been able to create our very own movement, fitted with a peripheral weight on the dial side, for only 1,000 euros?
As the chronograph is one of our partner Concepto's specialties, we've been able to make use of their base, constructed using the architecture of the famous 7750 movement, known for its robustness and reliability. Then we've modified it by moving the counters, redesigning the bridges, and above all adding a peripheral weight on the dial side. This rare complication alone accounts for a third of the cost of production. It's important to point out that all of the components, except for the mainspring and the jewels, are produced in-house.
In addition to the financial benefit, using an existing base, which has already been at optimal reliability for a number of years, avoids the tiresome problems of youth.

From a concept
to a reality
After months of development, what a pleasure it is to see this project go from a concept to a reality. The prototypes are exquisite! This is an important stage for performing in-depth testing and adjusting all the little details before production.
Strong design -
High-tech materials
The NB24 chrono is available in AeroCarbon and in grade 5 Titanium. High-tech materials that reflect the strong, technical character of the case and the dial. Each model is offered alongside a wide range of interchangeable straps.
NB24 AeroCarbon - high-density aeronautical carbon fiber
Extremely strong, carbon fiber is one of those technical materials that combines perfectly with mechanical watchmaking magic. But we didn't want any old carbon fiber, we wanted the best of the best. The AeroCarbon’s case is made from a high-density aeronautical carbon fiber.
2.5x more resistant to bending than steel
2x lighter than titanium and 4x lighter than steel
Very dense and watertight without a titanium chamber
NB24 AeroCarbon - high-density aeronautical carbon fiber
Extremely strong, carbon fiber is one of those technical materials that combines perfectly with mechanical watchmaking magic. But we didn't want any old carbon fiber, we wanted the best of the best. The AeroCarbon's case is made from a high-density aeronautical carbon fiber.
Produced for us on-demand in France, the blocks are made up of over 300 layers, each placed at 90° to the previous and compacted under 10 bars of pressure in an autoclave oven. This process guarantees an exceptional composite 2.5 times more resistant to bending than steel.
In addition, due to its high density, AeroCarbon is watertight without the need to add a titanium chamber, as is the case with the carbon fiber, less dense and more porous, typically used in watchmaking.
2.5x more resistant to bending than steel
2x lighter than titanium and 4x lighter than steel
Very dense and watertight without a titanium chamber
NB24 Ti5 -
Grade 5 Titanium
Titanium offers the comfortable advantage of being around twice as light as steel. For our NB24 chronograph, we opted for grade 5 titanium. It's more expensive than grade 2, but it offers double the toughness and finer detail in the finishing.
2x tougher than grade 2 titanium and steel
2x lighter than steel
What's the purpose of the oscillating weight?
So-called 'automatic' mechanical movements are fitted with an oscillating weight that recharges the watch through wrist movements (no battery required). As it swings from left to right, the weight rewinds the mainspring, which stores the energy required for the mechanism to function correctly.
NB24 Peripheral oscillating weight
Standard oscillating weight
Dial-side peripheral oscillating weight
The peripheral weight is a real technical feat, today mastered by only a handful of brands. We've already fitted one to our X41 movement, but for our NB24 chronograph we're going even further by making it visible on the dial side. It's a defining feature found on very few pieces, and even then at astronomical prices! Pure watchmaking magic.
Reduction in movement thickness
More transparency to showcase the mechanical beauty
A technical feat achieved by only a handful of brands
Numbered
edition
In order to produce exceptional mechanical watches, we call on the best. These are local manufactures with unique expertise who perform the finishing touches by hand. That's why NB24 watches are only produced in small, numbered series.
Numbered

NB24 - The realization of a dream
The NB24 encapsulates the story of our ambassador Nigel Bailly and his dream of taking part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. When this young paraplegic driver shared with us his passion and determination in 2017, we were immediately drawn in and decided to accompany him in his adventure.
After 3 years of relentless work, Nigel will take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June 2021, thus proving that nothing is impossible. Nigel, your courage and determination are an inspiration. Regardless of where you finish, you're already a champion to us! This chrono project is dedicated to you.
The NB24 watch is more than Swiss-made
For a watch to be considered Swiss-made, 60% of its value must come from Switzerland, it's movement must be Swiss, and it must be assembled in Switzerland. The NB24 project has managed almost 85% and comfortably exceeds the requirements. Such a large quantity of Swiss components is very rare! And yet the NB24 watches will bear no mention of being Swiss-made, because CODE41 has been opposed to this misleading label since the beginning.
The NB24 project represents unbeatable magic and value for money.
Total transparency
With our TTO label (Total Transparency on Origin), we've put transparency at the heart of our approach. We clearly explain the production costs and mark-ups required for the project to be profitable so that we can concentrate on what we're really passionate about: creating high-quality mechanical watches.

Exceptional movement, exceptional manufacturer
The development of a manufacture movement isn't something you can just improvise. In addition, the chronograph is one of the most specialist watch complications. That's why we've called on one of the best specialists in the field. Based in the heartland of Swiss watchmaking, the manufacturer Concepto was founded in 2006, and today boasts a team of 120 people who handle all of the watchmaking expertise in-house. In other words, we're in safe hands.
No risk, just pleasure

Frequently asked questions
As long as your order has not yet been dispatched, you can cancel it free of charge or change your choice of strap, while stocks last. From the day of delivery you have 30 days to send it back free of charge, unused and in its original packaging, to receive a full refund.
No. We've implemented a system in our cart that allows the customs duties and VAT applicable to your country to b calculated and paid. So you won't have to pay anything upon receiving your watch.
For a watch to be considered Swiss Made, at least 60% of its value must come from Switzerland, its movement must be Swiss, and it must be assembled in Switzerland. That means that a Swiss Made watch may be of great quality while a large part of its components come from abroad.
For greater clarity, we've banked on total transparency and chosen both Swiss and foreign components for their defining features and value for money, rather than to meet the criteria of a misleading label. That's why, although the majority of our models comfortably satisfy the criteria, we've decided not to put the Swiss Made label on our watches.
To avoid excess stock, the gray market and any waste, we decided on a pre-order system. It seemed more logical to only produce the quantities that have already been sold. For that reason, we launch pre-orders for a new edition once or twice a year, each for a period of 2 to 4 weeks. We're generally ready for delivery 8 months later. While you're waiting, we enable you to experience the birth of your watch with a lot of videos and photos.
For this first pre-order campaign, NB24 watches will be covered by a special 3-year guarantee instead of 2. In the event of technical issues, all you need to do is contact us and we'll arrange both the collection and return of your watch, as well as its restoration.
The NB24 watches have a lug width of 24mm. The straps are compatible with the ANOMALY-01, ANOMALY-02 AND X41 watches. The DAY41 37 and 40mm watches, on the other hand, have lug width of 21mm, and require straps which are not suitable for the other collections.
Since the beginning at CODE41, the retail price has always been a direct reflection of the costs of production, rather than a result of market positioning. We're committed to staying by your side and every day we're fighting to get the best value for money, with any savings passed on directly in the retail price. A big hello, by the way, to Valérien, the director of Concepto, who'll back me up on that last point, as we've had multiple tense conversations about prices ;)
Whether it's the X41 or the NB24, in both cases we're talking about Fine Watchmaking movements. But even though our chronograph might be more complex, we've ended up with a much lower cost of production because it's one of Concepto's specialties. So we benefit from economy of scale with a good number of the parts also used in their other movements. Otherwise, the price of the NB24 movement would be 3 to 4 times more expensive.
Quel beau projet.
Why do you not offer rubber straps?
Hello,
My best advice for 2021 would be to keep an eye open on our future developments 😉
Best regards
Ordered my NB24 today, can’t wait to see it in the metal. Congratulations all, beautiful, fantastic pieces!
Thank you very much Tom 🙂 !!
Bonjour Ronald,
Merci pour votre adorable message ! 🙂 Belle journée !
