Power reserve

Your CODE41 watch is fitted with a mechanical movement featuring automatic rewinding. Thanks to the oscillating weight, each movement of your wrist recharges the mechanism. When the watch is not worn, it has a power reserve of around 40 hours (at full charge).
IMPORTANT: Sometimes your everyday movement is not enough to completely recharge the mechanism. It can also be recharged manually by turning the crown approximately 40 times in a clockwork direction.

Precision

We chose the MIYOTA mechanical movement for their impressive robustness and reliability. All of our watches have been set with the greatest of precision, but a deviation of a few seconds per day is absolutely normal. (Up to +/- 60 sec/day)

Impermeability

WARNING: To ensure that your watch is watertight, the crown must be correctly locked (position 1)
Your CODE41 watch is watertight to a depth of 50m, in conformance with the standard ISO 22810:2010. It can be used for activities in shallow water such as swimming in a pool or in open water. In contrast, it must not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing or other activities involving rapid currents or deep immersion.

Maintenance

MOVEMENT
It is recommended that your mechanical movement be serviced every 2 to 3 years.

GASKETS
Over time and according to the geographical area in which you live, your watch’s gaskets may deteriorate. It is therefore recommended that you check the impermeability annually. A watchmaker can replace the defective seals if necessary.

An international guarantee covers any manufacturing defect during the first 24 months from the date of delivery.

Guarantee conditions

The product is considered to be defective if it is found to be damaged upon receipt, or if a manufacturing defect is reported in compliance with and within the period of validity of the guarantees associated with the product in question. Please note that items damaged as a result of abnormal use will not be considered to be defective.

The guarantee is void in the following cases:

  • Damage caused by standard wear and tear and aging of the product.
  • Damage resulting from non-compliant assembly.
  • Damage resulting from maintenance, repair or disassembly not performed by a CODE41-approved after-sales service center.
  • Damage resulting from non-compliant use, poor treatment, abuse, negligence, recklessness, deterioration caused by the use of products in improper conditions such as severe impact, crushing, rough handling of the clasp, etc.
  • Damage sustained during transport and delivery.
  • Damage caused by humidity which may have been entered the watch following mishandling (e.g. crown incorrectly locked).
  • Any watch with evidence of physical damage to the glass or case middle.
  • Missing proof of purchase (receipt, proof of payment, etc.)
  • The series number engraved on the case is illegible or forged.
  • The guarantee does not cover straps or glass.

It is emphasized that any CODE41 advertising campaigns or promotions (by their nature intended to highlight the esthetic and innovative character of CODE41 products, and which may sometimes depict CODE41 products in unusual situations or conditions of use) must not be considered as examples of the normal use of CODE41 products which could be claimed as such by the end user. It is therefore clear that the CODE41 guarantee will be limited to cases of defects which only occur following the normal and regular use expected of a watch.

If your watch is defective upon delivery or you discover a fault within the 2 year guarantee period following deliver, you may return the product for repair.

In order to activate your guarantee, send an email to team@code41.com with the full details of your order (surname, first name, order number, email, etc.) to identify yourself and then return the defective item in accordance with the procedure which will have been explained to you by CODE41 customer service.

Upon analysis of the claims made in your request to return a defective product, we reserve the right to refuse your request for legitimate reasons (guarantee period expired, fault no covered by guarantee, improper use of the product, etc.).

Under the conditions of the guarantee, we offer to repair or replace defective items wherever possible. If the item cannot be replaced or repaired, and if said item is no longer available, you will then be entitled to a full refund.

We’ve chosen Swiss mechanical movements for their great robustness and reliability. All of our watches have been fine-tuned with the greatest of precision, though a variation of a few seconds per day is completely normal (up to +/- 60s per day).

Until now, our models have been fitted with an ETA 2824-2 movement. As a result of a shortage of movements (read the article), we’ve selected the STP-1-11 movement for the following models:

  • AN02-BR: from 07/05/2020

Power reserve

Your X41 watch is fitted with an auto-rewinding Fine Watchmaking mechanical movement. Thanks to the peripheral oscillating weight, each wrist movement recharges the mechanism. When not worn, it has an estimated power reserve of 45 hours (at full charge).
IMPORTANT: sometimes daily wrist movements are not sufficient to fully recharge the mechanism. The movement may also be recharged manually by turning the crown approximately 40 times in a clockwise direction.

Precision

We’ve partnered with one of the best movement designers in Switzerland. Timeless has a complete mastery of cutting-edge watchmaking expertise. All of our watches have been adjusted by hand with the greatest of precision.

Impermeability

WARNING: To ensure that your watch is watertight, the crown must be correctly locked (position 1)
Your X41 watch is water-resistant to 50 meters, in compliance with standard ISO 22810:2010. It may be used for activities in relatively shallow water, such as swimming in pools or open water. It should not, however, be used for scuba diving, water skiing or any other activities involving rapid currents or deep immersion, or any activities in which the risk of impact is significant.

Maintenance

It is recommended that you have your mechanical movement serviced every 4 to 8 years, depending on the conditions in which it is used. In addition, with time and depending on where you live, your watch’s gaskets may deteriorate. It is therefore recommended that you have the permeability checked every 2 to 3 years. The watchmaker will replace defective gaskets if necessary.

Practical advice

  1. Before bathing, check that the crown is fully pushed in. After bathing in saltwater, we advise you to rinse your watch with clean water.
  2. We are exposed to numerous sources of magnetic fields on a daily basis, which may lead to the watch running slow, fast, or even stopping completely. In that case, the simple demagnetization of the watch in a CODE41-approved workshop and a reset will be required.
  3. Like all automatic mechanical watches, you are advised to avoid any sporting activities which could lead to physical damage to the movement (e.g. golf). You should also avoid high temperatures, so don’t leave your watch in direct sunlight for too long
